About
Our Cat's Contour Ceramic Cat Bed is the brainchild of my brilliant wife, lovingly conceived for our beloved Buffy the Vampire Slayer a.k.a Buffcat. She has been a constant source of joy to us both and we spend most of our free time trying to find novel ways to spoil her.
Buffcat like all her feline friends is obsessed with lounging in the sink. Her obsession became our passion when my wife noticed she was spending more and more time in her ceramic hideaway.
After a long week of work my wife needs to be with her Buffcat. One Sunday afternoon, my wife wondered what it was about our bathroom sink that was keeping them apart. Not wanting to be a moment without her Buffcat, she pondered ways of luring Buffcat out of seclusion. A couple hours later we were buying sinks at our local hardware store.
We experimented with various shapes, sizes and materials. Buffcat had a definite preference. Plastic would not do. Only ceramic would satisfy our Buffcat. Ceramic had the additional advantage of not easily scratching like plastic and it was so much easier to clean than a traditional cat bed made of fabric.
An oval shape seemed to offer the most comfort. However, any oval would not be sufficient. It had to be paired with a perfectly proportioned depression, one that would comfortably accommodate lounging on her tummy, side and back.
The height of the walls also had to be carefully considered. They had to be high enough that they provided the cocooning effect that Buffcat relished but not so high that it prevented her from engaging in her favorite past time: bird watching. The walls also needed to be gradually tapered to a soft rounded upper lip for resting her chin or cheek after a demanding day of lounging.
Once we knew what Buffcat needed to be comfortable there was one remaining problem: aesthetics. It should be obvious by now we will do just about anything to please our Buffcat. However, we just couldn't bear to have an unsightly unfinished sink sitting in the middle of our living room. Unlike traditional cat furniture, it had to add to the decor and be something we were proud to have in our home. To achieve all of our goals we had no choice but to design our own.
Our Ceramic Cat Bed is the culmination of extensive research, a passion for beautiful modern design, and a deep love of our Buffcat. We believe we have created an attractive yet irresistible lounger for our kitty. Now we would like to share our invention with other aesthetically minded cat lovers and the objects of their feline affection.
Each cat bed is made to order with the same love and attention we placed in the first. We hope that your kitty enjoys it as much as ours does.
For every spoiled cat there is a cat in desperate need of a home. For each Cat's Contour Ceramic Cat Bed sold Little Cat Design will make a $1 donation to KittyKind. KittyKind is a non-profit organization that saves abandoned and homeless animals throughout New York City. No matter how difficult it might seem, KittyKind finds homes for many of the rescued cats by utilizing their foster/sanctuary network. Each year they find love-filled homes for approximately 800 cats.
